Former opposition factions’ member killed in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, a member of the government forces was deadly shot by unknown gunmen in the western countryside of Daraa, south Syria.

“Bashar Awad al-Koma, a member of the Fourth Division of the government forces, was killed after being targeted by unknown assailants near his house in the town of Tel Shihab, west of Daraa,” local sources told North Press.

“Al-Koma was a former member of the opposition factions, but he reconciled with the government forces and joined the ranks of the Fourth Division,” the sources added.

Despite the government forces’ complete control of Daraa and despite the reconciliation, the governorate witnesses almost daily killings of civilians, government soldiers and former opposition factions’ members.
