ALEPPO NORTHERN COUNTRYSIDE, Syria (North Press) – The Turkish-backed Levant Front faction arrested on Friday two residents of Afrin countryside, north Syria.
A local source told North Press that members of the aforementioned faction, had arrested Muhammad Kasso, without knowing the reason behind it.
He was arrested without his parents’ knowledge and taken to an unknown place, and his fate is still unknown, the source said.
In a similar context, members of the same faction arrested Luqman Hassan on charges of collaborating with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
Hassan was detained in one of the faction’s detention facilities, and his parents were asked to pay a $4,000 ransom in exchange to set him free, the same source added.
The region witnesses a state of security turmoil, accompanied by continuous arrests and kidnappings against the indigenous people, with the aim to blackmail and suppress them.
Since Turkey’s invasion in March 2018, Afrin city and its countryside have witnessed a state of security chaos accompanied by explosions and continuous infighting among the Turkish-backed armed factions themselves amid their inability to settle the security there.
