Wounded toll of Turkish shelling of Syria’s Kobani increases
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – The toll of civilian wounded in the Turkish shelling that hit the city center of Kobani, north Syria, on Friday morning has mounted to two.
The Turkish forces targeted this morning the city center of Kobani with several shells wounding two civilians and causing material losses in houses and shops.
A shell fell down on houses in Kawa martyr street south the city wounding the 28-year-old Ferhad Muhammad Hassan with two shrapnel in the leg and the back.
“The shell fell at 00:10 AM on our house while we were sitting inside,” Muhammad Hassan said.
“I was hit with two shrapnel in my leg and back and I was transferred to the hospital,” he added.
A medical source told North Press that the young man sustained mild injuries and he was released after receiving treatment. And his health condition is stable.
The second shell fell down on a shop in the street 48 and slightly wounded Muhammad Khalil Bako the owner of the shop.
Meanwhile, the third fell on Kaniya Kurdan neighborhood and the fourth fell down on Kobani forest reporting no casualties.
In a related context, the Turkish forces shelled this morning the Syrian government forces headquarters near the village of Qaramogh, 20 kilometers east of Kobani, with five shells.
So far no extra details have been obtained.
