Turkish forces shell populated villages in Syria’s Hasakah countryside
TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the Turkish forces and the affiliated opposition factions bombed several populated villages on the contact lines in the countryside of Tel Tamer town, north of Hasakah, northeast Syria, with heavy weapons.
“Dozens of shells launched by the Turkish forces fell on the villages of Tel Tawil, Tawila, al-Dashisha and al-Dardara, in the northern and western countryside of Tel Tamr,” a source in the Tel Tamr Military Council told North Press.
The bombing led to the displacement of the villagers plus material damage to civilians’ homes, according to the source.
The countryside of the town of Tel Tamr has witnessed, for about a week, violent bombardment by Turkish forces and the armed opposition factions, which have so far resulted in significant material damage to public facilities, places of worship and residents’ homes.
