Tribal fight leaves wounded in Syria’s Hasakah
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, three individuals were injured in a fight between two tribes in Guweiran neighborhood south of Hasakah, northeast Syria.
A Tribal fight between al-Baka tribe and al-Ma’amerh tribe wounded the 52-year-old Fawaz al-Makhatir, the 25-year-old Azzam Fawaz al-Makhatir, and a third whose identity was not known, a local source told North Press.
The clash followed a dispute over subscription in the electricity registration and then it evolved to a fight where members of the two tribes used private weapons and hand grenades.
The three wounded were hospitalized according to a medical source who said the injuries were in the abdomen, back and legs and that their health condition was stable.
The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) encircled the neighborhood in an attempt to ease the tension and started an investigation over the issue, a source from the Asayish said.
Since early 2022, tension and armed clashes have increased in Hasakah, the last of which occured two days ago when a group of armed men chased two young men and fired bullets on them in Guweiran.
