One member killed, two others wounded in factions’ infighting in Syria’s Afrin

ALEPPO NORTHERN COUNTRYSIDE (North Press) – A member was killed and others were wounded on Monday evening, as a result of violent clashes between the pro-Turkey Ninth Division and al-Mu’tasim Division in the city of Afrin, north of Aleppo.

“a member of the Mu’tasim Division was killed and two others were wounded in the infighting between two Turkish-backed opposition factions,” a special source told North Press.

“The Afrin-Azaz road has been blocked due to the ongoing clashes, amid a military alert of the Military Police faction to resolve the dispute between the two factions,” the source added.

On April 7, an elderly man and a woman were injured in Bulbul district, as a result of violent clashes between the Sham Legion and al-Hamza divisions.

Since Turkey’s invasion of Afrin in 2018, Afrin city and its countryside have witnessed a state of security chaos, accompanied by explosions and continuous infighting between the Turkish-backed opposition factions, amid the latter’s inability to settle the security there, according to the testimonies of local residents.
