Tension rises among Turkish-backed factions in Syria’s Aleppo

ALEPPO NORTHERN COUNTRYSDIE, Syria (North Press) – A man was killedin the early hours on Monday as an IED exploded in his car in Qabasin city, eastern Aleppo countryside, in conjunction with military tensions among the Turkish-backed opposition factions.

The deceased, Hassan Qadour, was the manager of the Turkish-sponsored Turkmen Qara Kaji Association, which distributes humanitarian aid to the Turkmen people residing in Qabasin, a special source told North Press.

The IED explosion came in tandem with military tension between the two Turkish-backed factions of Ahrar al-Sham and the Civil Police in al-Bab city, east of Aleppo.

A member of Ahrar al-Sham harassed a girl in the market and when the Civil Police intervened to solve the dispute, a fight erupted between the two parties causing injuries to a woman, three members of the Civil Police and four members of the  Ahrar al-Sham, the source said.

In the same context, tension aroused between the Levant Front (al-Jabha al-Shamiya) and Mu’tasim Division in Afrin as members of al-Jisr checkpoint, which is run by the Levant Front, beat and abused the leader of Mu’tasim Division, according to a local source.

Immediately, the Military Police intervened and broke out the dispute, the source said.

Areas held by the Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed opposition factions face tension and scale up of forces amid repeated incidents of arrests and killings in light of the opposition factions’ failure to settle security in the area.
