Tension rises among Turkish-backed factions in Syria’s Aleppo
ALEPPO NORTHERN COUNTRYSDIE, Syria (North Press) – A man was killedin the early hours of Monday as an IED exploded in his car in Qabasin city in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, in conjunction with military tensions among the Turkish-backed opposition faction.
The deceased Hassan Qaddour, was the manager of the Turkish-sponsored Turkmen Qara Kaji Association that distribute humanitarian aid to the Turkmen residing in Qabasin, a special source told North Press.
The IED explosion came in tandem with military tension between the two Turkish-backed Ahrar al-Sham al-Islamiya and the Civil Police in al-Bab city, east of Aleppo.
A member of Ahrar al-Sham al-Islamiya harassed a girl in the market and when the Civil Police intervened to solve the dispute, a fight erupted between the two sides causing injuries to a woman, three members of the Civil Police and four members of the Ahrar al-Sham, the source said.
In the same context, tension arouse between the Levant Front and Mu’tasem Brigade in Afrin area as members of al-Jisr checkpoint, which is run by the Levant Front, beat and abused the leader of Mu’tasem Brigade, according to a local source.
Immediately, the Military Police intervened and broke out the dispute, the source added.
Areas under the control of the Turkish-backed opposition factions face tension and scale up of forces amid repeated incidents of killings and arrests and failure of the opposition factions to police the area.
Since 2017, al-Bab city have been run by Turkish-backed armed factions the most notable of which are al-Hamza faction, Sultan Murad and Ahrar al-Sham.
