DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, two civilians were injured in a landmine explosion, a remnant of war, in Syria’s southern city of Daraa.
Two civilians were critically injured as a landmine exploded near Khirbet Ghazala town in the eastern countryside of Daraa, local sources told North Press.
The two were farmers and were injured while working in the farmland near the town, the sources said.
In a separate incident today, an IED, planted by unknown persons, detonated in al-Sil neighborhood in Daraa city causing material losses. No casualties were reported, according to the sources.
The Syrian government forces reject people’s demands to create a special demining team to clear the farmlands around the cities and towns in Daraa from the remnants of war which threatens the lives of people, according to the residents.
