Documentation center documents over 200 Turkish violations in NE Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Violations Documentation Center in northern Syria said the number of violations carried out by Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed armed factions has exceeded 200 including drones attacks and artillery shelling of areas northeast Syria since early 2022.

The attacks hit the northern countryside of Raqqa, the western countryside of Hasakah and the eastern countryside of Aleppo and mainly were focused on Tel Tamr, Tel Rifaat, Manbij, Kobani and the town of Ain Issa.

Turkey attacked the aforementioned areas using drones, artillery and missiles targeting farmers whose lands located near the border wall it constructed.

The center documented that more than 15 individuals including women and children were killed and more than 150 others were wounded during these attacks.

Additionally, the Turkish violations left Various extents of damage to residential neighborhoods and lands in addition to hitting more than 18 service facilities that were sources of livelihoods for the residents, according to the reportr.

Also, the Tel Tamr power transformation plant went out of service due to the Turkish artillery shelling.

In 2019, Turkey signed two ceasefire agreements, one with the US on October 17th and one with Russia on the 30th of the same month.

Additionally, Turkey is continuing to hold the Euphrates River water causing increasing rationing hours of electricity supplied by Tishrin Dam and not to mention continuous disturbances in pumping water from the Alouk station leaving one million people in the areas of Hasakah and its countryside, northeast Syria, at risk.

The center through the report called on the Russian guarantor to take a firm stance regarding these violations in the time statements and remarks no longer have a useful role amidst reporting casualties among residents and massive damages.
