ISIS claims responsibility for Asayish attack in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – ISIS claimed responsibility for an attack in a town east of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, which it said killed an Asayish member, according to the group’s media outlets on Wednesday.
ISIS-run Amaq News Agency said in a statement that the organization’s members targeted a member of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) Hamdan al-Hamidi, with automatic weapons, and then burned him inside his car.
On Tuesday, an Asayish member lost his life after he was shot by unknown assailants, while being in his car in a town in east of Deir ez-Zor.
Despite the intensive security operations of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor has recently witnessed an increase in the killing of SDF members, Autonomous Administration employees, tribal dignitaries and civilians.
On April 7, ISIS claimed responsibility for targeting two members of the SDF in the city of Hajin in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
