ALEPPO NORTHERN COUNTRYSDIE, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, a leader of a Turkish-backed faction forced a Kurdish woman to marry him under the force of weapon and threats of imprisoning her and contacting her relatives in northeast Syria.
Mustafa Zahori, IDP from the countryside of Hama known as Abu Hussam, leader of the Levant Front (al-Jabha al-Shamiya), compelled the widow Sherin Aliko, from a village in Ma’batly district in Afrin, to marry him, a local source told North Press.
Abu Hussam accused Aliko of intelligence contact with the Autonomous Administration and threatened he would imprison her and call her relatives residing in northeast Syria in case she refused to marry him, the source said.
Leaders of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) in Afrin and its countryside blackmail the people deliberately to force them obey decisions and achieve their goals, according to the source.
Insecurity has been prevailing in Afrin since the Turkish invasion in 2018, and leaders of the Turkish-backed SNA intimidate the residents by arresting, kidnapping and killing to achieve their goals.
