Separate shootings in Syria’s Suwayda leave injuries
SUWAYDA, Syria (North Press) – Three persons were injured, on Friday, in separate shooting incidents in Syria’s southern governorate of Suwayda.
Khalid Ayoub, a civilian, was critically injured after being targeted by a group called “the Public Resistance” affiliated with the Military Security Branch of the Syrian government.
Local sources told N orth Press that Ayoub was targeted after it was confirmed that he was involved in the abduction of the civilian Shadi Sha’rani.
On March 10, Sha’rani, who resided in Jaramana suburb of Damascus, was kidnapped after a young woman lured him to travel to Suwayda to buy a car.
Also, the nurse Fida Abu Mighdeb was wounded, on Friday, after he was shot by thieves who tried to steal his car, an eyewitness said.
In a separate incident, the civilian Lorance Abu Sa’b, from al-Mujaymir village in the countryside of Suwayda, was wounded, on Friday, in clashes between domestic groups of al-Mujaymir and al-Qoriya on the one hand and armed men from the Bedouin on the other, Sauwyuda 24 network said.
Killing and shooting incidents in Suwayda have increased amid insecurity and proliferation of arms despite the security reinforcement brought in by the Syrian government on February 6.
