Tajik delegation visits Syria’s northeast 
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A Tajik delegation headed by Ambassador of Tajikistan to Kuwait Dr Zabidullah Zabidov and and the Third Secretary at the Tajik Embassy in Kuwait, Ruslan Dzurev paid a visit to areas of northeast Syria, Friday.
The official website of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) said the delegation was received by Abdulkarim Omar, co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations, and the two deputy co-chairs, Abir Ilia and Fanar Al-Kait.
The two parties touched on several issues concerning the region particularly conditions in northeast Syria, according to the website of the department.
The delegation had a clear image about the events and the recent attacks in each of Hasakah prison (al-Sinaa) and Hawl Camp north of Hasakah.
Taking about the sensitivity of the current phase, Abdulkarim Omar noted to the need to take serious steps regarding the issue of the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) detainees and their family members in addition to the importance of pooling international efforts in this framework and cooperating with the AANES to curb terrorism and its threat posed on areas of northeast Syria.
Omar stressed the urgent need to support the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish), and the military security authorities in the field of providing supplies and the necessary technics to defeat terrorism and the threat of ISIS sleeper cells.
“The international community should increase the economic and relief support provided to the AANES in order to provide services and support both departments of health and education with the aim to rehabilitate the communities, which had once lived under ISIS power for years, and to prevent ISIS from entering these areas and reorganize them,” Omar said.
“It is necessary for the international community to assume its responsibility towards the terror issue and for each country to repatriate its nationals from northeast Syria,” Ambassador Zabidov noted.
“Conditions in the detention centers and camps are really serious and must be dealt with carefully,” the Ambassador added.
