Casualties in separate incidents in Syria’s Daraa since April
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – The first week of April, Daraa governorate and its countryside, south Syria, witnessed separate security incidents, killing and wounding of 14 people, including civilians, in light of the ongoing security chaos.
On Thursday, Wael Ibrahim al-Masry, a government soldier, was killed in an assassination attempt carried out by unknown gunmen last Wednesday.
On Wednesday, two people were killed in the border town of Nassib in the eastern countryside of Daraa.
Yasser No’man al-Radi and Riyad Atallah al-Radi were shot dead in the town, local sources of the town told North Press.
On March 4, the two members of the government forces, Ziyad Muhammad al-Nuseirat and Mishaal Muhammad al-Jahid, were shot by unknown gunmen in the town of Ibtaa in the northern countryside of Daraa, according to local source.
Three people were killed in the same day in a family dispute.
The young man, Dirar Ibrahim al-Ghazawi, was killed by his brother in the town of al-Maliha al-Sharqiah in the eastern countryside of Daraa. The young man, Issa Abdullah Abazid, was killed in a quarrel in Daraa al-Balad, while the young man, Muhammad Hussein Abazid, was later killed in the same fight, according to North Press sources.
The young man, Muhammad Zuhair Abdullah, in the town of Nahata in the eastern countryside of Daraa, was attacked by unknown persons.
Local sources in the town told North Press that Abdullah previously joined the Syrian opposition factions before joining the first settlement agreement in the summer of 2018, and he did not join any military formation after that.
On Monday, the young Ali Ahmad al-Rahhal was subjected to an attempted murder in Jassim city, in the northern countryside of Daraa, by unknown gunmen.
On Sunday, the young man Ibrahim Hamad al-Hawasna was killed on the road between the towns of al-Musaifra and Umm Walad in the eastern countryside of Daraa, after he was shot by unidentified gunmen, a source close to al-Hawasneh told North Press.
He added that al-Hawasna, who hailed from an ancient town in the northwestern countryside of Suwayda, had lived in the plains of Daraa Governorate since 2012.
On Saturday, a member of the government forces was killed in the town of al-Ghariya al-Gharbia in the eastern countryside of Daraa.
The young man, Safi Khaled Suleiman, was shot by unidentified gunmen, who were riding a motorcycle in the town’s square, local source told North Press.
The source added that Suleiman is a member of the Division 10 of the government forces and hailed from the town of Eyeb in Lajat area in the eastern countryside of Daraa.
In the same day, the family of the 24-old year Muhammad al-Zo’ubi, received his body from government forces after he had been killed under torture in Sednaya Military Prison.
And last Friday, Salah al-Masalma was seriously injured in landmines explosion while working on his land in the outskirts of al-Manshiya neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad, after which he was transferred to the National Hospital in Daraa for treatment.
