Infighting between opposition factions injures two civilians in Syria’s Afrin

ALEPPO NORTHERN COUNTRYSIDE (North Press) – On Thursday evening, an elderly man and a woman were injured in Bulbul district in the countryside of Afrin, north of Aleppo, as a result of violent clashes between al-Sham Legion faction and al-Hamza Division.

“An elderly man and a woman were injured in the clashes that took place between al-Sham Legion faction and al-Hamza Division in Bulbul district,” a local source told North Press.

“Machine guns and medium weapons were used in the clashes whose reason is still unknown, amid a state of panic and fear among the residents of the area,” the source added.

On Wednesday, local websites circulated news of violent clashes erupting between al-Majd faction and  al-Hamzat Division in Bulbul district in the Afrin countryside, in which one person was killed and one was wounded on both sides.

Since Turkey’s invasion of Afrin in 2018, Afrin city and its countryside have witnessed a state of security chaos, accompanied by explosions and continuous infighting between the Turkish-backed opposition factions, amid the latter’s inability to settle the security there, according to the testimonies of local residents.
