Government forces hand over body of detainee to his family in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, The government forces handed over the body of a person from Daraa governorate who had been detained in a government prison.
“Muhammad al-Zou’bi, (24), was killed under torture in Saydnaya prison, four years after his arrest,” a local source told North Press.
“The young man came from the city of Tafas in the western countryside of Daraa, and his body was handed over to his family and was buried in the city’s cemetery.”
The young man, according to the source, had never joined any of the opposition’s military formations.
It is noteworthy that the issue of detainees in Daraa governorate is one of the most complex, as the Russian forces pledged, after the government forces regained the governorate in 2018, to open this issue and release the living ones.
