Turkish-backed faction arrests person in Syria’s Afrin

ALEPPO NORTHERN COUNTRYSIDE, Syria (North Press) – A Turkish-backed faction arrested yesterday a person in Afrin region, north Syria, for allegedly dealing with the Autonomous Administration.

The Turkish intelligence arrested Shukri Khalil Ibrahim who hails from Khalta village of Jindires district, west of Afrin, a local source told North Press.

The family of the arrested man did not learn about his arrest at the beginning. He was taken to an unknown destination and he is still unaccounted for, the source said.

Afrin and its countryside have been under the control of the Turkish factions and the affiliated Syrian National Army (SNA), which are backed by Turkey since March 2018.

Insecurity spreads in the region as abduction and systematic arrest against the indigenous people take place for blackmail and ransom.
