Misleading media impedes communication with Arab world: SDC

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – An official in the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) said on Saturday that media misinformation about the Autonomous Administration project impedes communication with the Arab world.

With the presence of representatives of political parties, the SDC held a workshop on the political transition at its headquarters in the city of Raqqa, north Syria, on Thursday.

During the workshop, politicians criticized the weak communication of the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Council with the Arab world and demanded this communication be increased and activated more.

“Regarding communication with the Arab countries, it is on the top of the priorities of SDC, but here may be misleading information about the project of the Autonomous of Administration, which impedes this communication,” Jian Malla Mahmoud, a member of the Relations Office of SDC, told North Press.

“SDC tries, through the Arab tribes present in northeast Syria, which believe in the Autonomous Administration project and participate in it, to communicate with these countries and have relations with them,” she added.

“we hope in the next period to have better relations with The Arab countries that have important roles in solving the Syrian crisis,” Mahmoud said.

In early September last year 2021, Abdulkarim Omar, co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations in the Autonomous Administration, said that communication with the Arab world weakens Turkish and Iranian influence, criticizing at the same time the weakness of this communication.
