Person lost his life in landmine explosion in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A person lost his life on Saturday by a landmine explosion left behind by ISIS, in a town east of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.

Khalid al-Nuwair (60), lost his life as a result of the explosion of a mine left behind by ISIS while being in his deserted farmland in the town of al-Jala’, 100 km east of Deir ez-Zor, Muhammad al-Khalid al-Nuwair, the son of the killed man, said.

The land has not been reclaimed for more than four years, and contained a weapons depot belonging to ISIS, he added.

The eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor witnesses many similar incidents, considering it was the last stronghold of ISIS, and the remnants of the war are widely spread there.

Two days ago, a child was injured by an explosion of a war projectile in the town of al-Mariya in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
