Turkish violations continue during March in Syria’s Sere Kaniye
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The committee of the displaced people of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) north of Hasakah, northeast Syria, has listed, on Friday, the Turkish violations committed during March.
Turkey and the Turkish-backed armed factions, during the current month, bulldozed 12 houses and uprooted about 2000 fruitful trees in the village of Ain al-Hisan in tandem with celebrations of Newroz Day, Jiwan Isso, an official of the general relations in the committee of the displaced people of Sere Kaniye, told North Press.
Isso’s words came on the margins of a statement the committee read in Washokani Camp on Friday at noon.
A number of the Sere Kaniye IDPs of various communities including Christian, Assyrians, Syriacs, Kurds and Arabs attended the statement.
The circle of violations has widened especially after the Turkish forces and the affiliated factions took control over Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad in northeast Syria targeting people threatening them with killing and kidnapping in addition to seizing their possessions.
“85% of the indigenous people were displaced and violations in the city and its countryside are still continuing,” he added.
Rights and documentations office of the committee released and delivered several statements, official reports and memorandums to international and regional parties disclosing the violations through reports attached with videos and photos.
During the current month, the office documented bulldozing of more than 12 houses in Ain al-Hisan village south of Sere Kaniye in addition to uprooting up to 2000 trees.
Also a rape of a 12-year-old child girl by members of the 20th Division was documented in al-Aziziya village, and two rape incidents were also documented in the western countryside of Sere Kaniye in addition to killing a 10-year-old child in Tell Arqab village at hands of al-Hamza Division.
“Due to the media blackout and the increased security, we did not manage to obtain accurate information regarding these violations,” Isso noted.
In the statement, the committee called on the UN Fact-Finding Committee to carry out its legal and humanitarian duties, and to take immediate action to stop the Turkish wheel of destruction in the region.
And it stressed the need “to curb the Turkish-backed armed factions that operate under the direct instruction of Turkey and work to expel them in a step towards the political solution in Syria.”
