Turkish forces, SNA launch attacks in Syria’s Ain Issa, SDF official
AIN ISSA, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) conducted two ground assaults on the outskirts of Ain Issa hitting nine villages this week, an official of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said Thursday.
Since the invasion of Tel Abyad and its countryside in 2019, Turkey and the SNA have been targeting the villages of Tel Abyad and Ain Issa which are not under their control.
The Turkish forces and the SNA continue targeting the villages and the civilians in the region, Riyad al-Khalaf, commander of Tel Abyad Military Council said.
During this week, two attacks were carried out against Ain Issa injuring two children, as Turkish surveillance planes hover over the skies of the area on a daily basis, al-Khalaf said.
al-Hoshan, Musherfa, Mu’laq, al-Khaldiya, Sayda, Khirbet al-Bayda villages were targeted in the Turkish assault.
The grain silos in al-Musherfa, the water pumping station, and the M4 Highway were also targeted with heavy weapons, according to al-Khalaf.
The Turkish forces bomb the infrastructure as well as the civilians with various types of heavy and light weapons. They target the civilians directly, al-Khalaf added.
On Tuesday, the Turkish forces hit Khirbet al-Bayda village in the eastern countryside of Ain Issa
On Tuesday, the two children Muhammed al-Hassan and Ayman al-Hassan were injured in the Turkish attack on Khirbet al-Bayda and material damages were caused.
Al-Khalaf said the attacks are directed from multiple Turkish and the SNA’s military bases inside the “occupied territories” such as the bases situated in Sayda, Mu’laq, Asfar, Hoshan, Abu Serah Salibi, Bir Arab, Avdoki station and Bir Habash station.
