Former opposition member killed in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, unidentified gunmen shot dead a member of the former opposition factions in the western countryside of Daraa.

“The young Lawrence Nabil al-Barhoumi was killed by unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle in the town of al-Muzayrib, in the western countryside of Daraa,” a local source told North Press.

“Al-Barhoumi is a former member of the opposition factions, and had reconciled with the government forces after regaining Daraa governorate in 2018,” the source added.

Al-Barhoumi, according to the source, did not join the ranks of the military formations of the government forces.”

It is noteworthy that the Daraa has witnessed over the past months a significant increase in the number of killings of hundreds people, most of which were concentrated in the western countryside of the governorate.
