Former opposition member killed in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, a young man was deadly shot by  unknown gunmen in the western countryside of Daraa, south Syria.

The young man, Hikmat al-Hourani, was killed by unknown assailants riding a motorcycle while being in the southern neighborhood of Tafas city in the western countryside of Daraa, a local source told North Press.

Al-Hourani was previously a member of the opposition factions, and he had reconciled with the government forces, but he didn’t join the military groups affiliated with the government forces, the source added.

Daraa governorate is witnessing an unprecedented state of insecurity and daily killings despite the deployment of dozens of military checkpoints of the government forces in the governorate.

On Friday, a person was deadly shot by unidentified gunmen in the eastern countryside of Daraa after.

In a similar incident, Taisir Hamdi al-Uqla, the head of Jassem municipality was killed by unknown gunmen in the northern countryside of Daraa.
