Night protests staged in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Dozens of residents of Syria’s southern city of Daraa staged yesterday evening a protest to call the toppling of the “regime”.
People of the cities of Dael, Jassem, and Nawa and the towns of Tel Shihab, al-Jiza, Tafas and Busra al-Sham staged protests in the evening to demand the toppling of the “regime” and continuation of the revolution, local sources told North Press.
Other local sources of Daraa al-Balad reported to North Press that several residents from the cities and towns gathered in the squares and raised flags of the revolution and banners read “freedom”.
The protesters called for the continuation of the revolution that was first staged from al-Omari mosque on March 18, 2011, the immediate release of the detainees from the detention centers run by the government, and the expel of Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah from Syria, the source added.
On March 17, opponents wrote anti-government slogans everywhere in the al-Kirk al-Sharqi town and Dael city.
