Residents of Syria’s Daraa take to street

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Dozens of residents of Daraa al-Balad and Tafas town in the western countryside of Daraa governorate, south Syria, took to the street on Friday calling for “toppling of the regime and the continuation of the revolution.”

“A number of residents of Daraa al-Balad town gathered in the square of al-Omari Mosque following the Friday prayers,” local sources of the town told North Press.

“Residents of Tafas town in the western countryside of Daraa gathered in the square of the city raising the revolution flag and calling for toppling of the regime,” the sources added.

“The protesters stressed the need to continue the revolution that were launched from al-Omari mosque on March 8th of 2011,” the sources noted.

Additionally, the protesters demanded the immediate release of detainees in the Syrian government prisons and that Iran and Hezbollah leave Syria, according to the same sources.
