Three soldiers killed in Israeli airstrike on Syria’s Damascus

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Three soldiers were killed in an Israeli missile airstrike on military posts in the vicinity of Damascus, south Syria.

“At about 1:10 AM on Thursday, the Israeli enemy carried out an aerial aggression with bursts of missiles from the direction of northern Lake Tiberias, targeting some points in the vicinity of Damascus City,” the Syrian Ministry of Defense said on its official Facebook account.

“Our air defense system confronted the missiles and downed most of them,” the ministry added.

“Three soldiers were martyred in the aggression which also caused some material damages.”

Israel targeted yesterday military posts of the Syrian government forces in the vicinity of Syria’s the southern city of Quneitra.

On February 9, Israel launched an airstrike with missiles fired from southeast of Beirut targeting military posts in the vicinity of Damascus killing one soldier and wounding five others.

Israel occasionally targets pro-Iran military militias stationed in different parts of Syria.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights during 2021, counted 39 Israeli airstrikes targeted Iran-backed militias in Syria.
