Mutual shelling between government, opposition continues in Syria’s northwest
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the de-escalation zones in northwest Syria witnessed military escalation and exchange of shelling between the Syrian government forces and Turkish-backed opposition factions.
The opposition factions’ sites in the towns of al-Fatira, Sufuhn, Kafr Aweed and Kansafra in the Zawiya Mountain area, south of Idlib, were hit with heavy artillery and missiles by the Syrian government forces stationed in the city of Kafr Nabl, opposition military sources told North Press.
“The bombing targeted a livestock farm, which led to the death of about 40 sheep in the town of Sufuhn, in addition to other damage to the targeted places,” the sources added.
Similarly, the sites of opposition factions near the towns of al-Enkawi, al-Qahira and Khirbat al-Naqus in the Ghab Plain area, west of Hama, were bombed by the government. No without casualties were reported, according to the same sources.
The Syrian government forces stationed in the town of Miznaz bombed the fortifications of the opposition factions near the village of Kafr Ta’al in the western countryside of Aleppo, the sources said.
The government forces’ sites near Kafr Battikh, east of Idlib, were hit with heavy artillery and missiles by al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room, which consists of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham , the Army of Glory and other Turkish-backed opposition factions, the sources said.
The de-escalation zone in northwest Syria witnesses daily bombardment between the government forces and Turkish-backed opposition factions, without any change in the territorial control.
