Mutual shelling between government, opposition escalates in Syria’s northwest

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, the de-escalation zones, northwest Syria, witnessed military escalation and exchange of shelling between the Syrian government forces and Turkish-backed opposition factions.

The opposition factions’ sites in the towns of al-Bara, Benin, al-Fatira and al-Ruwaiha in Zawiya Mountain, South of Idlib, were hit with were hit with heavy artillery and missiles by the government forces stationed in Kafr Nabl city, North Press reported military sources in the opposition.

  and  Mansoura and al-Ziyara  in the Ghab Plain area, west of Hama,

 “The sites of the opposition factions near the towns of Jabal al-Turkman, north Lattakia, was also bombed by the government forces, but no casualties were reported,” the sources added.

”The government forces’ sites near the village of al-Barakah in the Gab Plain were hit with heavy artillery and missiles by al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room,” according to the sources.

Four people were killed and five others were wounded on Wednesday in the bombing of the Syrian government forces on a fuel market in the city of Dana, north of Idlib.

Over the past days the mutual bombing between the government and the opposition escalated, which resulted in deaths and wounds on both sides.
