ERBIL, KRG, Iraq (North Press) – Eight members of the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) were arrested in four Iraqi governorates, including Sulaymaniyah in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRG), the Iraqi armed forces announced on Sunday.
“Anti-terrorism forces continue precise search to hunt ISIS remains in the Iraqi cities,” Iraqi military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Rasool said in a statement.
“Anti-terrorism forces have conducted two qualitative operations in Anbar and Saladin governorates where six ISIS members were arrested,” he added.
Another ISIS member, who was dressed in civilian clothes, was arrested in Babylon governorate, according to Rasool.
The hunt for ISIS members was conducted in coordination with the Asayish forces of Sulaymaniyah, located in the KRG, where another ISIS member was arrested.
