DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, a security patrol of the Syrian government forces stormed the town of Khirbet Ghazaleh in the eastern countryside of Daraa city, southern Syria.
The patrol stormed few houses and arrested Dib al-Zo’bi and four of his children, an eyewitness told North Press.
The brothers, who are enlisted in the 8th Brigade affiliated with the Russian-backed 5th Corps, were taken to a security branch in the center of Daraa, the source said.
In response to the arrests, residents of Khirbet Ghazaleh set tires on fire and blocked some roads.
Protests will continue until the detainees are released, the source said.
Arrests in Daraa governorate continued over January despite three settlement process have been conducted since the summer of 2018.
In its monthly report released in January, the Martyr Documentation Office, a local non-governmental organization that follows up the statistics of casualties and detainees in Daraa, said arrests and assassinations never halted in Daraa governorate, on the contrary they took place in different parts without determining the party behind them.
The Office documented the arrest of nine people by the Criminal Security Branch, eight people by the Military Intelligence Branch, three people by the Political Security Branch and one person by the Air Force Intelligence Branch.
