ISIS attack leaves government fatalities, injuries in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DERI EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday evening, members of the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) assaulted a group of the National Defense Forces (NDF) killing two soldiers and wounding five others in al-Masrab desert in the west of Deir ez-Zor city.
The NDF is affiliated with the Syrian government forces.
Members of ISIS fired rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) at a group of the NDF and the two parties engaged in clashes with light and medium weapons, a military source told North Press.
The government forces sent reinforcement from Deir ez-Zor to the scene in support of the NDF, the source said.
The ISIS attack killed two soldiers of the NDF and wounded five others, a medical source in the military hospital of Deir ez-Zor told North Press.
On February 2, two soldiers of the government forces were killed and three were wounded as ISIS members attacked government military sites in the Jabal al-Bishri situated between Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor.
