Coalition bears responsibility to prevent Turkish attacks, Mazloum Abdi
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – OnWednesday, the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi held the US-led Global Coalition a “large part of responsibility” to prevent the Turkish attacks on northeast Syria.
Last night, a Turkish bombardment targeted the fourth power station near the village of Teql Beql, which resulted in the injury of four employees of station and the martyrdom of SDF fighters.
“Turkish bombardment of Ain Diwar and Derik has resulted in the martyrdom of civilians and fighters and also hit public infrastructure, including a water dam and power station,” Abdi tweeted.
The Turkish bombardment targeted the villages of Basta Sos and Gire Fara in Derik.
The bombardment also resulted in the destruction of two houses, and the outbreak of fire in five houses. The shelling also caused a mass displacement of the residents of the village.
“This attack amounts to a declaration of war, endangers civilians, and undermines our fight against ISIS. With the rising threat of terrorism,” Abdi added.
The SDF Commander-in-Chief held the Global Coalition responsible saying “our Coalition partners bear a large part of the responsibility to prevent such Turkish attacks.”
Earlier today, the SDF Media Center issued a statement in which it said the Global Coalition “opened the airspace for Turkey to bomb northeast Syria.”
