Turkish bombardment wounds civilians in Syria’s northeast

DERIK, Syria (North Press) – The initial toll of yesterday Turkish shelling of a power station in the countryside of Derik city, northeast Syria, is four civilians, a medical source told North Press.

Yesterday at about 09:00, a Turkish warplane targeted patrol and power stations southeast Derik with two missiles, according to eyewitnesses.

The shelling reported four wounded of civilians, who are employees of the station, and they were transferred to Derik hospitals, according to the same medical source.

And the bombardment caused number of villages to be out of electricity.

Hussein Suleiman, a resident of Borouj village and was wounded during the bombardment, said, “I remember I heard warplane hovering in the sky so I hurried to tell my comrades inside the station.”

“I heard the firing of two missiles and then I fainted to find myself in the hospital,” he added.

North Press correspondent cited a local source as saying that the Turkish aircrafts targeted the area with eight missiles two of which did not blast.
