Russian-Turkish joint patrol conducted west of Syria’s Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, Russian Military Police (MP) conducted a joint patrol with Turkish forces in the western countryside of northern Syria’s Kobani.
This is the 87rd patrol between the two forces in the region since the signing of the Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement in 2019.
The patrol, which consisted of eight Russian and Turkish military vehicles accompanied by two Russian helicopters, set out from the village of Ashma, 20 kilometers west of Kobani.
It roamed the villages of Jarqli Fouqani, Qeran, Dikmatash, Khorkhori, Boban, Seftek and passed by a checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) in the radio area reaching to Tel Sha’ir , west of Kobani.
Then, the patrol immediately returned to the starting point in Ashma passing the villages of Sosan, Qola, Qaqoui Tahtani, Binder, Meshko, Jebnah, and Jarqli Fouqani.
After that, the Turkish military vehicles returned to Turkey through the gate near Ashma village, while the Russian military vehicles returned to their position near the town of Sirrin, south of Kobani.
