Syria’s northwest witnesses shelling between government and opposition

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria witnessed a military escalation and exchange of shelling between the forces of the Syrian government and the armed opposition factions after relative calm that lasted for days.  

The Syrian government forces bombed the opposition factions’ sites in the towns of Kafr Ta’al and Kafr Ammah in the western countryside of Aleppo, with heavy artillery and missiles, opposition military sources told North Press. 

The opposition factions’ sites near the towns of al-Enkawi and Sarmaniyah, west of Hama, and the towns of al-Bara and Fleifel, south of Idlib, were also shelled by the government forces, the sources said. 

Meanwhile, al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room bombed the government forces’ sites in the town of Miznaz in the western countryside of Aleppo, with heavy artillery and missiles, according to the sources.

Similarly, the al-Fateh al-Mubin also bombed sites of the government forces near the town of Sher Sahab in the Ghab Plain area in the western countryside of Hama, according to the same sources.

Over the past few days, the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria have witnessed relative calm in the exchange of shelling between the two sides of the conflict, after months of military escalation that left dozens of dead and wounded.
