Bodies of government soldiers found on bank of Syria’s Euphrates
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, residents of al-Boleel village, east of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria, found bodies of two National Defense Forces (NDF) soldiers of the Syrian government forces who were handcuffed and shot in their heads.
Residents of the village found the bodies of the two NDF soldiers near the bank of the Euphrates River and they were handcuffed and killed with shots in their heads, a military source of the government forces in al-Boleel village said.
The two soldiers, who hail from al-Boleel village, went lost two days ago after they left the work site heading to a shop to buy food products, according to the same source.
Areas in Deir ez-Zor held by Iran-backed factions and the Syrian government have been recently witnessing increasing activities by the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) sleeper cells.
Yesterday evening, four members of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed in an attack with machineguns by ISIS members targeting a military post in the vicinity of al-Mayadin desert, in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
