QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) arrested yesterday four members of ISIS sleeper cells in Hawl Camp, east of Hasakah, northeast Syria.
“The arrest of ISIS four members came during the security operations and the combing carried out by our forces to monitor the movements of ISIS sleeper cells who try to take advantage of the exceptional circumstances taking place in al-Sina’a prison in Hasakah,” said the media center of Asayish.
Since Tuesday morning, the vicinity of al-Sina’a prison in Hasakah city has been witnessing cautious calm interrupted by the sound of shooting in the vicinity of the prison. Meanwhile, the Asayish carry out raids in other neighborhoods after reporting the presence of strangers and suspicious activities.
“These cells are working to strike stability in separate places within our regions in northeast Syria,” the Asayish added.
“On Monday night, our forces managed to dismantle an ISIS sleeper cell, arrested four members of it, and seized a quantity of weapons and ammunition they had in the town of Hawl,” according to the Asayish’s media center.
“We call upon all our people to report any suspicious movement or any foreign object that raises suspicions to the nearest point of our forces’ points,” the center said.
