Total curfew imposed on Syria’s Hasakah due to security situation

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Interior Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced, on Sunday, the imposition of a total curfew in the Hasakah region, starting tomorrow, Monday, lasting seven days.

Service institutions such as bakeries, mills, health centers, gas stations, and municipalities, are excluded from the ban.

The curfew coincides with the events taking place around al-Sina’a prison in Guweiran neighborhood, south Hasakah, after ISIS cells attacked the prison with the aim of escaping the prisoners.

The Interior Board also imposed a partial curfew on other  cities, starting from six in the evening until six in the morning, and movement between cities is prohibited for during curfew.

The Interior Board indicated that Turkey’s failure to achieve its goals by striking the stability of the AANES areas pushes it resort to ISIS again to achieve its goals and undermine the AANES and its gains.

However, the response of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) to the ISIS attack on al-Sina’a prison in Hasakah prevented Turkey from reaching its goals, according to the circular issued by the AANES’ Interior Board.
