Sporadic clashes continue around Syria’s Hasakah prison
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and member cells of the Islamic State (ISIS) continue for the fourth day in the vicinity of Hasakah-based al-Sina’a prison in northeast Syria.
Since last night, sporadic clashes are still going on at this moment simultaneously with US-led Global Coalition aerial support.
Meanwhile, the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) is conducting security combing in al-Zohour neighborhood, which is adjacent to the prison. Safe corridors were opened for stranded residents.
Yesterday, the SDF said it re-controlled several points in the northern part of the prison.
The recent clashes have killed 22 ISIS militants up to now.
