SDF comments on videos published by ISIS on clashes in Syria’s Hasakah

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The scenes published by ISIS-affiliated media channels related to a number of abductees, are of the workers of prison kitchen with whom contact had been lost, Farhad Shami, director of the Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), said on Saturday night.

Earlier on Saturday, unofficial platforms affiliated with  ISIS published footages saying that they were SDF prisoners.

“Those who appear in the clips worked in the prison kitchen, and our forces lost contact with them during defending the first attack by terrorist cells on the prison,” Shami said in a statement obtained by North Press.

This comes in tandem with the incidents of an attack launched by ISIS sleeper cells on al-Sina’a prison in Hasakah.

Since January 20, the SDF have imposed a security cordon in the vicinity of al-Sina’a prison in Hasakah, due to ISIS cells attacking the prison, which came in tandem with three explosions near the prison.

Sporadic clashes are still taking place in the vicinity of al-Sina’a prison and on the outskirts of al-Zohour neighborhood, south Hasakah.
