DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A member of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) lost his life, on Wednesday, and two others were wounded by unidentified gunmen in a town east of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

A military source from the SDF in the town of Hajin, 110 km east of Deir ez-Zor, said unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on an SDF military vehicle near Hajin Hospital in the center of the town, which led to the loss of one’s life and the injury of two others.

The injured were taken to the military hospital in al-Omar field and are in good health, according to a doctor in the hospital.

The source added that the town of Hajin has not witnessed any attacks or assassinations for more than two months and is considered a safe area compared to the neighboring villages and towns.

The Hajin Military Council announced on its official website that one of its fighters lost his life in the town as a result of an attack by gunmen on Wednesday evening that targeted their vehicle.

Recently, the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing an increase in cases of killing of SDF members, employees of the Autonomous Administration, tribal dignitaries and the civilian population, most of which have been claimed by ISIS.
