DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The first trial session of the Syrian doctor, Alaa Mousa, who is accused of crimes against humanity during his work with the Syrian government in Homs, begins at Higher Regional Court (OLG) in Frankfurt, Germany, on January 19.
The German prosecution charged Mousa of 9 torture and murder cases. The prosecution said he is implicated of torturing at least two of the detainees by burning their genitals using alcohol during a surgery in a hospital in Homs city.
It pointed out that Mousa tortured detainees variously as he used medical tools and killed an epileptic detainee by giving him capsules.
The German authorities arrested Alaa Mousa in Hessen state on June 202. Lawyers expect a life imprisonment against him.
It is noteworthy that this is the second trial after that of Anwar Raslan, the former colonel of the Syrian government who was sentenced to life imprisonment by Germany days ago.
