Two government soldiers wounded in Syria’s northwest, Khmeimim

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Two soldiers of the Syrian government forces were wounded in a target by the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS-formerly al-Nusra Front) of the sites of the government forces in Idlib and Aleppo, the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria in Khmeimim Air Base announced yesterday.

“Militants of the al-Nusra Front fired at a number of towns in Syria’s north, wounding two soldiers of the Syrian forces,” Counter Admiral Oleg Vladimirovich Zhuravlyov, vice director of the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria, said.

A soldier of the government forces was wounded by a sniper of the “terrorists” in Kafr Nuran region in Aleppo western countryside, Zhuravlyov added.

He pointed out that “the sniper terrorists attacked the government forces in Fatterah town, south of Idlib, wounding a soldier.”

“11 violations were recorded by al-Nusra Front in past 24 hours,” Zhuravlyov noted.

Four shells fell each on Aleppo and Idlib countryside, one on Latakia, and two shells on Hama, according to Zhuravlyov.

“The Russian Military Police patrols in Aleppo governorate according to the Russian-Turkish under the memorandum of understanding,” he stressed.

Since early January 2022, the de-escalation zone in northwestern Syria has witnessed frequent bombardment by the Russian forces on opposition sites, in addition to mutual shelling between the government forces and the opposition factions.
