International Conference of Religions in Syria’s Qamishli condemns all forms of extremism

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the International Conference of Religions and Beliefs in Qamishli condemned all forms of extremism and religious, sectarian and ethnic ideologies.

This came in the final statement of the conference, which was held under the auspices of the Forum of Religions and Beliefs of Mesopotamia in the city of Qamishli, under the title “Together we spread peace.”

According to the final statement, a reference will be formed for relations entrusted with forming committees as necessary. This reference will be the window of the conference to the world to expand its activities.

The statement called for unifying efforts in confronting extremism by looking into the causes, developing appropriate solutions, and focusing on considering religious and moral values as an integral part of its members’ ethics.

The conference pledges to adopt appropriate positions on cases of abuse related to human rights violations for religious, sectarian or national reasons, and support just causes, the statement said.
