Syrian government settlements in Deir ez-Zor must be faced, Future Syria Party
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – An official of theFuture Syria Party (FSP) in Syria’ eastern city of Deir ez-Zor called yesterday to face the conspiracy by the Syrian government represented in the settlement process currently underway in the city.
The Syrian government rumors about the settlement process aim to destroy the political achievements that have been gained in northeast Syria.
The Deir ez-Zor-based FSP organized a forum to discuss the recent political developments in Deir ez-Zor as well as the settlement process conducted by the Syrian government.
“The political accomplishments by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) have proved a presence, a real one, on the international scene,” Muhammad Rajab, head of Deir ez-Zor-based FSP said.
Damascus announcement of launching settlement process in Deir ez-Zor and its countryside have caused an official and a public denial in the areas controlled by the AANES.
Rajab pointed out that the Syrian government needs to seek for ways to find a comprehensive political solution for all areas, which can contribute to put an end to the crisis the Syrian war has caused.
Rajab stressed the need to work to empower the AANES and the political system so to extend the project of democracy in order to reach a democratic, decentralized and plural Syria.
“In this occasion, we condemn the barbaric assaults and the intended attacks by the Turkish aggression against our “loved” north,” Rajab concluded.
On January 6, Amina Osi, the deputy co-chia of the AANES Executive Council said the settlement processes the Syrian government is currently conducting in the areas it controls in Syria’s eastern city of Deir ez-Zor threaten the social fabric in the region.
The population as well the administration in the areas run by the AANES rejected such settlement process, she added.
In mid-November 2021, SANA, Syria’s state news agency, announced conducting a comprehensive settlement for Deir ez-Zor citizens, for “those whose hands are not stained with the blood of the Syrians”, as it said.
