AIN ISSA, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, 12 villages in the countryside of Tel Abyad and the town of Ain Issa, north Syria, were shelled by the Turkish forces and the affiliated armed opposition factions.
The Turkish forces bombed the villages of al-Jurn, Qaz’ali, Zenobia, Hurriya, Ahmadiya Khan, Mab’uja Bir Khan Sufyan, Manjoki, Abu Surra Junction and Kobani Cement Company in the western countryside of Tel Abyad and Ain Issa, with artillery, rockets and mortars, a source in the targeted villages told North Press.
“The Turkish bombing has started since four in the afternoon, and it is still continuing, albeit sporadically, until now,” the source added.
The bombing caused material damage to the property of the residents in those aforementioned villages.
Yesterday, a civilian lost his life and 11 others were injured in the Turkish bombardment of the villages located on the border strip. The bombardment also caused a large wave of displacement in the targeted villages.
For more than two weeks, the countryside of Kobani, Ain Issa and Tel Tamr, have been violently bombed by Turkish forces and the opposition factions backed by them.
