Turkish shelling on Syria’s Raqqa countryside claims civilian’s life

TEL ABYAD, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, one civilian lost his life in bombardment by Turkish forces and their affiliated Syrian armed opposition factions of the village of Khana in the western countryside of Tel Abyad city, northern Syria.

The Turkish forces and their affiliated factions fired artillery shells and rockets on 12 villages of the western countryside of Tel Abyad, including al-Koberlek, Korek, Kaltab, Bir Arab, al-Jern, Khana, Zarzori, Mab’oujah, Sawan, Salibi, Qermegh and Alishar. 

One civilian from Khana was killed and four others, including a woman were injured, according to a source from the village.  

The wounded persons are still stranded in the agricultural lands due to the random shelling at the time of reporting this news, the source added.

The bombardment has caused a large wave of displacement in the aforementioned villages so far. 

Similarly, the town of Ain Isa and the western villages of Tel Abyad as well as other regions in north Syria are repeatedly targeted by the Turkish forces and their affiliated factions.
