Civilian and government soldier killed in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Two persons, including a Syrian government soldier, was shot dead by anonymous gunfire in Syria’s southern city of Daraa in the last two days.
Yesterday, unknown people shot the young man Qassem Roweis, 26. He was hospitalized to the National Hospital in Basra al-Sham, east of Daraa.
The next day, he died of his wounds.
Roweis was shot on the road in the eastern countryside of Daraa, a local source told North Press.
In another similar incident yesterday, gunmen driving a motorcycle shot dead the 29-year-old young man Habib al-Qibet, in Sahem town.
Al-Qibet was a former fighter in a Syrian armed opposition factions and later joined the settlement process in the summer of 2018.
Then he joined the Fourth Armored Division affiliated with the Syrian government and was charged with dealing with narcotic drugs, the source said.
Several assassinations took place in the first week of 2022 amid similar repeated actions in the area since the beginning of the settlements in 2018.
On January 3, two former members of the Syrian opposition factions identified as Muhammad al-Bardan and Ahmad Tarrad were killed on the road between Tsil and Edwan in the western countryside of Daraa.
The two men had joined the settlement process in 2018 and joined no military formations later.
