Member of government forces killed in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – A member of the Fourth Division of the government forces was deadly shot on Wednesday by unknown gunmen in the countryside of Daraa, south Syria.

“The so-called Habib Ali al-Qibt, a member of the Fourth Division of the government forces, was killed by unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle in the town of Sahem al-Golan area in the western countryside of Daraa,” local sources told North Press.

According to the sources, al-Qibt was a former member of the opposition factions. However, after the government forces took control of Daraa in 2018, al-Qibt reconciled with the government forces and joined the Fourth Division.

Two days ago, unidentified gunmen deadly shot two former members of the opposition factions in the western countryside of Daraa.

It should be mentioned that since the government forces controlled Daraa governorate, hundreds of people have been killed, despite the deployment of military checkpoints on the roads linking the cities and towns of Daraa.
